Vertical platform lift options and customizations
Regardless of the type of Vertical Wheelchair Lift selected, various elements can be tailored to adapt the lift to its location. Customization options may vary by model, yet commonly include the ability to adjust the configuration of the entrance or exit, platform size, lift color, and even door/gate material and size.

Custom RAL colors
Symmetry’s Vertical Platform Lifts (VPLs) are available in a variety of custom paint colors. Choosing a custom RAL powder paint finish will ensure that your VPL will complement any architectural design.
* Symmetry’s custom RAL colors are available for all VPL models and can be used for indoor and outdoor applications.
Interior options
The standard platform walls and surface colors are Architect White, Black, and Grey; optional colors include a full selection of RAL colors. There are optional acrylic insets as well available in Smoke or Clear.

Fixture options
Handrail colors
The main station and call station come standard as brushed stainless steel. All lifts, indoor and outdoor, are equipped with an ADA-compliant hands-free phone. The handrails match the interior color selection and come in white, gray, or black.

Entrance doors for VPLs
One of the key considerations in a vertical platform lift (VPL) shaft is its entrance. Given the paramount priority of rider safety, it’s required by code that the entrance door is flush with the interior of the shaft.
The push handles and footrests extend the farthest from a standard wheelchair. By maintaining flush surfaces throughout the interior travel distance within the hoistway, the risk of these components catching onto the hoistway is eliminated, providing protection to both the chair and the rider.
Gate and Door Options
The vertical platform lift gate/door options include platform and landing gates. Non-fire-rated red oak door and Fire-rated steel doors are also available.
Symmetry also offers Power Door Operator (PDO) and Power Gate Operator (PGO). The Symmetry Power Gate operation can be installed top, bottom, or mid mounted on any vertical platform lift gate.

Brushed Stainless Steel
Symmetry’s Vertical Platform Lifts (VPLs) are available in Brushed Stainless Steel. Offering a beautiful and modern finish, the Brushed Stainless Steel may be manufactured with a variety of optional features to enhance functionality.
Flip-up ramps
Flip-up ramps can be used to access openings that are perpendicular to the tower on straight-through and 90◦ applications and are available on all unenclosed lifts.
Flip-up ramps can serve as a roll-off barrier in residential applications with a travel of 60 inches or less or can be used in conjunction with a platform gate. Commercial applications using a flip-up ramp and platform gate will require a power gate operator to meet current code requirements.
*Typically 2 ½ inches tall and 15 inches long, Symmetry’s flip-up ramps are manufactured with durable steel and are available in custom lengths to fit your needs. Flip-up ramps automatically deploy or retract when entering or exiting the lower landing.
