Enclosed Lift
The Enclosed Lift is A18.1 code-compliant and designed for ease of installation. It can be used as a residential lift or in a commercial application.
When used in private residences, the Enclosure vertical platform lift requires slightly more space than an Unenclosed lift. They travel heights up to 168″. You may see an Enclosed lift in commercial settings, including parking structures, airport terminal lifts, and providing access to stadium seating.
No shaft required
All-inclusive lift solution. The enclosure is the shaft and it comes with it.

Enclosure options
There are two enclosure options to choose from:
- Metal Infill enclosure wall panels for EL
- Acrylic or Laminated Safety Glass infill enclosure wall panels for ELP
Technical highlights
The Symmetry Enclosure VPL has a rated load of 750 lbs. The lift moves as a speed of 10-20 fpm (depending on drive option).
Constant pressure
Unlike a residential elevator, constant pressure on the call button is required when calling the lift to the appropriate landing and when a passenger sends the lift to the desired level.
Integrated doors and locks
Landing interlocks keep doors closed/locked when the platform is at another landing, ensuring safety at all times.
Drive options
There are a variety of drive options to choose from with the Symmetry Enclosed platform lift:
- Acme Screw Drive: 10 fpm, 1 HP, 115 VAC
- Accelerated Acme Screw Drive: 20 fpm, 1 HP, 115 VAC
- Chain Hydraulic Drive: 17-20 fpm, 3 HP/24 VDC, 115 VAC
